According to the just concluded investigation, the pilot’s error was the cause of the incident at the beginning of the year, reports MTI. By mistake, the plane’s engines were idled, which caused no thrust, and the plane crashed less than a minute later. The preliminary report also stated that

A Yeti Airlines ATR-72-500 aircraft from Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, crashed on January 15 with 72 people on board shortly before landing in Pokhara. It was one of the worst air disasters in Nepal in recent decades. Since 2000, nearly 350 people have died in plane or helicopter crashes in Nepal. In 2013, the European Union banned Nepali airlines from the Union’s airspace, citing security concerns.
