INTERNATIONAL – Slow release. Thirty-four and their families were evacuated from the Gaza Strip to Egypt via the Rafah border crossing this Friday, November 3, announced from Nigeria.

“Today, we were able to have 34 French people with their families who were able to pass”the minister told French media from Abuja, the Nigerian capital. “If I count the French, our agents from the Cultural Institute and their families, that represents around 170 people, only a part was able to pass”she clarified.

This evacuation follows that of five French humanitarian workers this Wednesday, when several countries were able to leave the Palestinian enclave.

“We are in the process of organizing the evacuation of our nationals and”, assured Emmanuel Macron earlier in the afternoon of this Friday. The French Institute in Gaza was in fact targeted by a bombardment by the Israeli army this Friday, without causing any casualties.

“At the request of the President of the Republic, France will charter two new military flights to transport humanitarian cargo for the benefit of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip,” also indicated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This emergency humanitarian cargo will be handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent.
