Iran has launched long-range ballistic missiles from a warship for the first time. The issue was reported by Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on Tuesday.
According to Iranian state television, the missiles were launched in the Gulf of Oman in connection with naval exercises. The longest range of the missiles is 1,700 kilometers.
Also, in central Iran, the Revolutionary Guards simulated a missile attack on Israel’s Palmachim airbase south of Tel Aviv, state television reported.
Iran held the military exercises at a time when regional tensions have increased due to the war between Israel and the extremist organization Hamas.
Western countries have repeatedly expressed their concern about Iran’s missile program.
