DeutschlandDachshund Dasty was stuck in a concrete pipe for over two hours
A dachshund suddenly disappeared during a Sunday walk with his owners in Horn-Bad Meinberg. The dog was finally found in a concrete pipe and freed.
On Sunday, the Horn-Bad Meinberg Volunteer Fire Department in Germany received an emergency call at 12:20 p.m. Dasty, an almost ten-year-old dachshund, suddenly disappeared while out for a walk.
When the emergency services arrived at the scene, the owners, other helpers and a local farmer had already been searching for the missing animal for over half an hour. Ultimately, the owners were able to locate their dog in a concrete pipe running across the field.
Disappeared shortly before his birthday
A first hole has already been dug in the field – around 100 meters away from an agricultural path – and the concrete pipe has been opened. Dasty could be located here. He was sitting about ten meters from the opening, but a mass of mud in the pipe blocked his way out.
Active helpers used shovels and spades to enlarge the hole and clear the mud from the concrete pipe. After two hours, the patient dachshund was finally able to leave the pipe to be taken into his owners’ arms again. Today Dasty celebrates its tenth birthday.
