Prosecutors have charged a Canadian man with five counts of murder in connection with the death of his wife, three children and a 17-year-old relative, Canadian authorities announced on Monday local time.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police Detective, Tim Arseneault according to the 29-year-old Ryan Howard Manoakeesick was charged with the alleged murder of his 30-year-old wife, the couple’s 6-year-old daughter, 4-year-old son and 2-month-old daughter, as well as the wife’s 17-year-old niece.
Authorities found the bodies in and around the town of Carman in the province of Manitoba.
The police found the body of the accused’s wife in a ditch on Sunday morning local time, after she was the victim of a trespassing.
More than two hours later, 70 kilometers to the north, police were called to a vehicle on fire, where the couple’s children were pronounced dead at the scene. The police then detained the 29-year-old man.
The body of the 17-year-old girl was found a short time later in an apartment in Carman. According to the police, the autopsy is in progress, and no further details were shared about the case, reports MTI.
