SpaceX owner Elon Musk said the Starlink satellite communications terminals developed by SpaceX were not sold to Russia.

More fake news claims that SpaceX is selling Starlink terminals to Russia. This is absolutely false. As far as we know, Starlinks were not sold to Russia directly or through intermediaries” Musk wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Earlier, several news outlets, citing the Ukrainian military, claimed that Russian troops were using Starlink terminals. In addition, the publication Strana reported that Ukrainian troops have been complaining of a decrease, for unknown reasons, in the speed of Starlink satellite communication, which they use in combat operations, since mid-2022.

Starlink satellite communications terminals were provided to Ukraine by SpaceX. Musk has repeatedly expressed himself in favor of resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomatic means. Communications provided by Starlink are used by the Ukrainian military to control drones.
