The aim is to strengthen the G. di F./Ismea partnership which, from the agricultural and agri-food sectors, is now also extended to the protection of intellectual property, with the aim of highlighting cases of counterfeiting or violation of copyright, production know-how as well as trademarks and patents
The Memorandum of Understanding governing the collaborative relationships between the Guardia di Finanza and ISMEA was renewed today in Rome. The contents were signed by the Chief of Staff of the General Command of the Corps, General Leandro Cuzzocrea and the Extraordinary Commissioner of Ismea, Livio Proietti. This consolidates a synergy that has already existed for some time between the two institutions and is destined to be further strengthened as a result of today’s memorandum.
With the renewal of the agreement, in fact, the aim is to strengthen the G. di F./Ismea partnership which, from the agricultural and agri-food sectors, is now also extended to the protection of intellectual property, with the aim of bringing to light cases of counterfeiting or infringement of copyrights, production know-how as well as trademarks and patents. Following a now proven scheme, the collaboration will find concrete implementation in constant information exchanges which will allow the Special Component of the Guardia di Finanza to delve into data, news and other qualified information, develop operational projects and activate the territorial departments of the Corps for investigative findings “on field”.
But the agreement signed today also includes initiatives aimed at the professional growth of the staff of both institutions, providing for the possibility of organizing moments of discussion for the exchange of best practices and specific training and refresher courses. Benefiting from the new and more structured form of collaboration is the effectiveness of the actions to protect the national agricultural and agri-food sectors, recipients of significant interventions, also financed with the resources of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (Pnrr).
