Advertising | The consumer ombudsman intervened in Finnair’s unclear environmental marketing

Consumer representative has interfered with the environmental claim used by the airline Finnair in its marketing. According to the Finnish Competition and Consumer Agency (KKV), Finnair gave a misleading picture of the positive environmental effects of the company’s air travel in its marketing.

In its marketing, Finnair said that it is procuring renewable aviation fuel, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80 percent. According to the Consumer Ombudsman, based on the claim, the consumer cannot know what significance the purchase of renewable aviation fuel has on Finnair’s total emissions.

According to KKV, Finnair is committed to correcting its marketing.
